Maggie's Getaway sits high above our private 300' wide deep water Deer Harbor shoreline on 3 ½ acres with ample manicured lawns. Soak in the sun, clean air, and sweeping views from the bird-filled gardens. Keep toasty around the outdoor campfire while watching for Northern Lights under the star-filled sky at night. Hike through over a hundred acres at the heart of Deer Harbor and look for Great Blue Heron, Bald and Golden Eagles, Red Tailed Hawks, Osprey, River Otters, Raccoons, Black Tailed Deer, and a host of other San Juan Islands wildlife. Our nearby wildfowl sanctuary is a bird watching paradise.

Maggie's getaway can accommodate up to four guests; as the main floor(2 bedrooms) of the larger Maggie's Manor. The upper floor will be locked off when guests rent only the main floor. You can get a great idea of how the house is laid out, and how the surroundings look, see the hot tub area, the picnic table and campfire area, see the 400 sq. ft. kitchen, so perfect for group meal preparation and visiting. The large hot tub off the front porch has the best view in all of Deer Harbor! Two bedrooms, one bathroom, large dining room and living room with piano! WiFi, satellite TV, fireplace, and gorgeous view of the Deer Harbor bay, outer islands, and the distant snow-capped Olympic Mountains.
With this charming getaway cottage is a cook's delight. Whether you like to cook your own crab, barbecue your own salmon, steaks or like to cook hot dogs over the open fire, you will like Maggie's outdoor cooking area and campfire pit. And the 400 sq. foot kitchen is an absolute delight for cooks! With four sinks spread over three separate areas there is plenty room to prepare a festive gourmet meal. Dine on the east deck, the west yard picnic area, or the dining room all with spectacular water views.
The Deer Harbor area of Orcas Island enjoys some of the nicest weather these "banana belt" San Juan Islands offer---lots of sun and little rainfall! This "rain shadow" effect makes for exceptional "off-season" visits here usually with delightful weather. Sunny Deer Harbor is a hub of San Juan Islands marine activity, with fishing, whale-watching for Orca and Minke whales, sea kayaking, boat rentals and sailing charters available, as well as moorage facilities for your own boat.
